The Greenhouse is a eco-friendly concept bar and restaurant in the heart of the Perth CBD. It offers an informal tapas style menu and a quirky atmosphere filled with recycled and sustainable elements. Since the restaurant does not take reservations on Friday nights, there can be a bit of a wait. However, this gives diners the opportunity to enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar. There is an impressive cocktail list and a range of good quality spirits as well as a wine list. There is also a limited menu that can be enjoyed at the bar.
The food is fresh and full of flavour and changes seasonally. From the current spring menu, the stand out dish is the thinly sliced ox tongue, which has a soft, melt in your mouth texture. The trout croquettes are probably the dish with the most direct Spanish effect, and they are the kind of dish that leaves you wanting more.
The pizza changes daily and is small enough to have amongst the other dishes, it is also delicious in its simplicity. The service is generally good and friendly, but it can become a little slow towards the end of the night. All in all, the Greenhouse offers high quality food as well as fun ambience which amounts to a good night out.
