Vietnamese is one of my favourite cuisines. I love the steaming hot soups, crunchy rice paper rolls & fresh and tangy salads. While Melbourne's inner north-west isn't exactly known for its Vietnamese restaurants, Green Leaf in Moonee Ponds provides some pretty authentic & very tasty fair.
Probably the best thing about The Green Leaf is their weekday lunch specials. They have a small menu, which includes both chicken & rare beef pho, which is only $10.90, including a soft drink Monday – Friday.
The noodle bowls at The Green Leaf are super generous & they are available with a range of proteins, including tofu. The rice paper rolls are always super fresh & made to order and the springs rolls are crunchy & very authentic.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant is pretty hectic so I prefer to sit in the outdoor space & enjoy the sunshine while I watch the hustle & bustle of Hall Street.
I have never had any issues getting a meal that meets my dietary requirements at Green Leaf & they have gluten free & vegetarian options clearly marked on the menu (including my fave, veggie Pho).
