Built over only six weeks, made out of steel, plywood and recycled plastic; the Green House offers an amazing set up and an even better menu. I do realise the steel, plywood and recycled plastic doesn't sound very appealing, but if you are environmentally friendly, then you will enjoy this place as much as I did.

is all about sustainability. Its appearance is quite striking. The exterior has pots and greenery hanging on the whole wall of every façade, while inside a variety of objects and lights offer a warm atmosphere. You will find that these simple but creative ideas have been carefully thought through in a way to create a non-destructive place to the environment. It is certainly one of the most interesting restaurants I've been to. The inside colour created by the use of timber, straw bales on the walls, light shades made out of wire and other recycled materials makes me think of those brown recycled paper bags.

They also produce their own fresh ingredients as they have their own roof-top garden which supplies the kitchen with seasonal vegetables and fresh herbs.

offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is printed on brown paper and has a wide range of things to eat and drink. The best things I had were the pickled pork belly and the spiced cauliflower. You can really feel that the food is fresh, specially the greens.I also had a very good cocktail there with a friend at lunchtime, and it seems that people were ordering a lot of pizzas for lunch. I could see the wood oven from where we were sitting. They did look really good.

The bar has alcohol bottles hanging over your head, tied with plain blue rope. I thought that was pretty interesting. I also noticed that they served everything in recycled glass. The orange juice that they served to someone next to me, was definitely fresh, and was served in what looked like recycled ginger beer bottles. Simple, but a great idea.

From the fresh food, to the lighting, everything is made to be eco friendly. The place has also been built so it can be easily recycled, and they also use the straw bales as a way to insulate the building to keep the temperature stable. It's amazing what you can do with simple things. You couldn't be more eco friendly.

It's a really nice place to go for after work drinks or evening dinner. Whether you're vegetarian or prefer meat you will most surely find what you like at the Green House.
