The Greatest Love of All – The Whitney Houston Show
The Greatest Love of All - The Whitney Houston Show is a tribute show dedicated to the talent and music of the late Whitney Houston.
This show was launched in 2013 and has been solidly touring the United States, Canada, Europe, South Africa, Asia, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand and Australia. This is their second visit to Melbourne.
Belinda David's interpretation of Whitney Houston and her biggest hits is sound and picture perfect. Belinda sings the high notes and definitely has the charm, the moves and looks of Whitney also. Her performance is utterly memorising.
Opening the show with the iconic tune "I'm Every Woman" was a crowd pleaser and was then followed by so many of Whitney's classic hits including "Didn't We Almost Have It All", "All The Man That I Need", "Where Do Broken Hearts Go", "It's Not Right But It's Okay" and "I'm Your Baby Tonight".
The highlights for me of Act One were "How Will I Know" - which had the crowd dancing - and "Greatest Love of All".
After a short 20 minute intermission, Act Two began with a high energy performance of "Queen of the Night" from the "Bodyguard" Soundtrack.
More hits ensued with "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)", "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)", "I Have Nothing", "So Emotional" and of course, a beautiful rendition of the iconic Whitney hit song "I Will Always Love You".
This entertaining show runs for two and a half hours, including the intermission in the middle of the two acts.
After the show, Belinda came out to meet and greet fans and have some photographs taken. There was also a merchandise area for those wanting to purchase a keepsake.
The Melbourne Athenaeum is hosting this fabulous Whitney Houston tribute show for a limited season from Thursday 11th January through to Thursday 27th January, 2018.
