Some people love beer, while others would rather kill maggots with it. However, if beer and cider is your thing, this is the event for you. The Great Australian Beer Festival will be held at Geelong Racecourse on Saturday the 1st of February from 11am until 7pm. The event includes stalls with over 150 ciders and beers to sample, free seminars on a whole range of things from beer tasting and appreciation to beer and food matching, live entertainment and competitions.

As you enter the main shed you'll see a vast array of brewers from Feral Brewing Company to Prickly Moses. You can purchase tokens to sample their stock. At last years festival the queues never got too long and there were water filling stations, a good reminder to keep hydrated and pace yourself.

If you keep your eyes open you'll spot roving entertainment keeping the crowds amused as they relax under the umbrellas on the grass. There's a smattering of food stalls to purchase lunch.
