Where else can you tour the very best food and wine regions of Australia with just your taste buds and tasting glass over 3 days in Brisbane? At the much anticipated Good Food & Wine Show (GF&WS), you can sample a diverse blend of food, wine, chefs and interactive features, all in one location at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

To get the insider scoop on the event, I enlisted the help of Mark Baulderstone, Managing Director of Riedel Australia, who was already involved in GF&WS in Melbourne and Sydney .

Mark shared that one of the most important element of the Riedel brand revolved around education and how it can lead to greater enjoyment. GF&WS offered a unique opportunity to talk to customers and educate the wider public through Riedel's Wine Theatre, Wine Bar, and for the first time their brand new Spiegelau Beer Classics Bar, which focuses on craft beer.

Whether you're a repeat visitor or new to the event, here are 8 reasons why we think you'll want to spend 17 to 19 October at the Good Food & Wine Show.

1. From Anything to Everything to do with Food & Wine

There are lots of stuff to see, taste, smell, touch and hear at GF&WS. It presents a cornucopia of delicious food and wine samples for you to discover including dedicated coffee sniffing, cheese sampling and beer and wine tasting.

The menu of masterclasses will thrill amateur cooks and foodies. And what's a good food and wine show without top chefs and producers interacting with visitors. The Good Food Theatre will be featuring Maggie Beer, Matt Moran, Anna Gare, Matt Stone, Luke Nguyen and Matt Golinski.

2. Zumbaron's Masterclass

Australia's pastry genius, famed for making incredible and delicious desserts will be starring in his own cooking class at GF&WS. Adriano Zumbo's 2 hour Zumbaron's Masterclass priced at $99 and presented by Kenwood, is all about making macaroons with the man himself. Talk about a deliciously sweet way to start your day at GF&WS.

3. Riedel Glass Tasting

Mark's office is helping visitors to match wines to glasses through an entertaining and educational tasting. Through the Riedel Glass Tasting masterclass, you will learn how the shape of a glass can influence the aroma, taste and overall enjoyment of wine over an hour. At $99, you will also take home 3 statuesque Vinum XL glasses for Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet.

4. Laucke Creative Kitchen

While the Good Food Theatre and Lifestyle Food Chef's Table has your favourite celebrity chefs in action, the Laucke Creative Kitchen can help you get dinner on the table. You will learn to use what you've seen around GF&WS and transform them into delectable dishes.

5. Barossa Wine Masterclass

The Barossa is synonymous with the most famous wine region in Australia for good reasons. In addition to walking the stalls and chatting with the various winemakers, wine-writer and Barossa local David Brookes will share with you the reasons why through a series of interactive masterclasses. Participants will also go into the draw to win 'The Ultimate Barossa Getaway For Two' valued at $2,500.

6. Coffee, Coffee and More Coffee

Not all Brisbaners may know their Colombian from Ethiopian single origins. Instead of just sipping the dark brew, GF&WS has assembled experts to share the art of coffee appreciation and help you understand single origins and blends, and the unique flavour of coffee from particular regions. Nespresso is brewing up an exciting hands-on activity for visitors to enjoy their coffee in the morning, afternoon and evening.

7. Barilla Masterclass with Chef Luca Ciano

Chef Luca will be showing visitors a great time with pasta at the Barilla Masterclass . In the course of 45 minutes, you will learn some pasta facts and methods, cooking up a recipe and eating your creation. There will also be a Barilla gift bag for each participant. The class runs 6 times per day and take 60 people each time.

8. Riedel Wine Theatre

Riedel shows that they know how to satisfy the sophisticated Brisbane wine palate at GF&WS. With some of the world's best wines being made in Australia, it makes perfect sense to enjoy some of the country's favourite types of wine. Wine writer Nick Ryan will take you through 30 minutes of wine appreciation and introduce you to 6 types of wine.
