You only have to walk in the front door of The Good Bean Espresso Bar in Mooloolaba to know you're in for a treat. Found on the
Mooloolaba Esplanade just across the road from the beach and close to the
Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club,
The Good Bean is a nifty little coffee shops just oozing with character.

The post-it doesn't lie
All the coffee basics are covered here as you'd expect - flat white, and caffe latte ($3.50 each), cappuccino and caffe mocha ($4.50 each) and espressos, ristretto, piccolo, long black and macchiato ($3 each). They've also got chai latte, hot chocolate ($3.50 each), babycino ($1.50). Extra shots are only 50 cents and soy and decaf drinks come at no extra cost.

A big, hot and strong cappuccino - just the way I like it
I went with a cappuccino in a mug for ($4.50). It was one of the best I've had in the Mooloolaba area - strong, hot and delicious. It even came with a Freckle chocolate. I never realised how good it could taste after dipping it into the drink for a couple of seconds and then letting the rest of it melt in my mouth - delightful. It's the small things like the Freckle that go a long way whenever I come to a coffee shop like this.

One of the walls is covered with positive messages from customers and friends of the cafe
Like I said - the little things make a big difference. For instance, one of the walls inside the cafe was just covered with lovely little messages from pleased customers - ranging from kinds words for a pleasant cup of coffee to nice things said about the staff who served them. After all, they were named
Mooloolaba's friendliest by the
Mooloolaba Business and Tourism group in recent years. Those notes on the wall just added to the environment. Everywhere else you look they've got plenty of antiques, lights and other quirky items that just help make this place stand out.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the view. You can see the beach just over the street.
While you can't order yourself a proper meal here they do have a selection of treats on offer. It's hard to resist when you've got things like brownies ($2.50), flap jacks ($3.50), and vegan date, walnut and banana cake ($4.50) sitting right there. Believe me, they will go down a treat with your beverage of choice. If you show up at the right time you might even find yourself in the midsts of happy hour, which runs from 2pm until close. During this time you can grab two regular coffees and cake for $10 or one regular coffee and a brownie for $5. Perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

You'll find these guys easily - they're close to the Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club
The Good Bean isn't just good - it's great. It's the nifty little coffee shop that an area like Mooloolaba Beach deserves. If you've ever been to
The Pocket at
Moffat Beach then you know what you're in for. Enjoy it there and then or grab a takeaway and find a spot on the sand or in the shade just over the road to enjoy the most of your weekend.
