We were able to reserve our table online, and received an almost instant reply confirming our booking for Sunday lunchtime.
The restaurant was clean and welcoming, and the staff very attentive - we were greeted with a smile at the door on arrival then shown to our table as though we were old, valued customers. Very impressive!
As it was a special occasion, we ate from the a la carte menu. However, there was also a good selection of well-priced meals on offer on the lunchtime menu. Early Bird dinner deals and other special offers are also apparently available throughout the week. Lots of dishes can be made to gluten free requirements and vegetarians are also catered for.
The Kilpartrick oysters and Marinated Porcini Mushroom starters were well-presented and cooked to perfection. For main courses, we variously chose the roasted Duck Renoir, Barramundi with a Macadamia Nut Crust, and Lamb Rump Normandy in a creamy porcini sauce. All came with plentiful sides, with just enough room for dessert!
Among the delicious temptations available were Coconut Brûlée, Creme Caramel and my eventual choice, the beautifully presented and equally divine Kirsch Bavarois - a type of chocolate cream pudding with black cherries in jus and a side sorbet. Heavenly.
