The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? by The Theatre Guild at Little Theatre
"Did you ever think you'd come back from your splendid life, walk into your living room and find you had no life left?"
Following the recent critically acclaimed productions by the Theatre Guild of Edward Albee's
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and
Three Tall Women the Guild presents another of Albee's plays
The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?
This tragic comical play premiered on Broadway in 2002 and won the Tony Award for best play.
The play's profanity-laced language and provocative themes are at times razor sharp, extremely funny, shameless and moving as it takes the audience on an absurd, unpredictable journey, challenging us to reassess our prejudices and perceptions whilst considering issues we may not be ready to confront.
Imagine you are Martin, a world-renowned architect and you have been commissioned to design a multi-billion dollar city. You have a beautiful loving wife and an inquisitive and vigorous son. You are celebrating your fiftieth birthday and your journalist friend, Ross interviews you on your amazing career. You should be happy, but you have a hidden a secret that will tear your family apart and destroy your world in one afternoon.
You will witness Martin's demise, all from the comfort of his flawlessly designed living room.
** Directed by Matt Houston
