The 90,000 people listening to 4MBS FM 103.7 know it is more than a radio station. Be prepared for a feast of 29 events, the last of which is on Sunday, 31st May, at Toowong. The kick off for the 22nd annual Festival of Classics is on Friday, 1st May [May day is Leis Day in Hawaii], and starts at 7.30pm, at St. Stephen's Cathedral, 249 Elizabeth St.
Kevin Power will conduct the Queensland Choir, with the Sinfonia of St. Andrew's, in a thrilling programme in a venue this music was originally written for (not Strauss, his is for a ball room, not a cathedral).
Kevin is a graduate from the Conservatorium of Music, Queensland. He is a pianist, teacher, artist, and examiner, and is the director of the Queensland Choir. He is just one of a host of performers who will be part of this month-long festival.
Tickets range from $15 for students, up to $45 for adults. To find out about the 32 concerts, in 21 venues, in and around Brisbane in the month of May, go to 4MBS classic FM to view the entire programme and book tickets, or call 3847 1717.
