The Gallery is a modern tea lounge overlooking the beautiful Hyde Park and it is discretely tucked away in the lobby of the 5-star hotel - Sheraton on the Park. Every weekend, The Gallery transforms into a haven of indulgent high tea luxury with a classical and inspirational themed Afternoon Tea Buffet featuring sweet and savory delights.

My friend kindly organised an exquisite high tea and it certainly set the ambience for a relaxed afternoon catch-up and celebration.

At the Sheraton on the Park

Contemporary high tea venue in Sydney
The lounge area looked posh with all the plush cushioned chairs and the large open dining space was the perfect place to meet and dine. However, our focus was definitely on the dominating buffet tables near the entrance. We could not contain our excitement when we saw the vast and 'unlimited' collection of sweet and savory delights placed in front of us!

Extraordinary selection of teas available

A nice freshly brewed pomegranate tea. Perfect with desserts!
We were politely shown to our reserved table and our waitstaff kindly informed us the vast selection of loose leaf tea that was on offer. We were intrigued with some beautiful fine tea blends such as the Italian almond, pomegranate and mint, blood orange & eucalyptus and rose with french vanilla. After we made our tea selections, it was time to check out the desserts.

This is so EVIL! So much nice temptations and unlimited access to them...

A whole Carrot cake! Can I just carry it away?

Assorted macaroons

More luscious-looking cake
The buffet tables offered an unlimited quantity of what you would receive in the traditional High Tea with an abundance of cakes and desserts, cheese, fruits and confectionery lollies. They even have a cream brulee and pancake station!

Strawberry mousse eclairs with edible flowers

Kiwi pavlova

mini Raspberry vanilla Panna Cotta
The theme of this afternoon tea buffet must be 'elegant and dainty', because all the desserts were smaller in size and beautifully presented. Their size was by no means a negative comment, in fact I actually adored the petite bite-size and I was able to try 'almost' everything that was on offer!

Chocolate cake.... hmmm... yum

Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart

An exceptional array of scrumptious treats
Walking around the buffet spread trying to decide what to sample was a real 'first-world' problem. There were macarons, salted caramel tarts, several whole cakes, mousses, chocolate torte, panna cotta, eclairs, pavlova and a warm scone station complete with butter, jam and whipped cream.

Savory selections
The various fresh ribbon sandwiches were all very traditional flavours such as egg, tuna, chicken. There was also a ham and brie baguette, which sounded a bit heavy, but it was the most light and delicate filled baguette I think I've ever eaten.

Hot finger food bar - the arancini balls are amazingly good!
It was nice they also offered hot finger food, such as mushroom arancini balls, salmon quiche and lamb samosa. It was nice to have many savory choices as well. I know it sounded crazy that you might crave for savory bites more than the dessert, but it happened!

just irresistible..

Can I fit in another slice of cake.. or two?

Just in case you are not sweeten up
Enough said, I will just post some of the mouth-watering photos so you can comprehend our lack-of-stomach-space dilemma.

Luscious desserts that leave us wanting more.
The spread looked amazing and we were pleased with the high-quality standard desserts It was the most charming high tea buffet experience.
