The jaws dropped and so did the pants last night at Campbelltown Theatre's The Full Monty at the beautiful Town Hall Theatre in Queen Street, Campbelltown.
Telling the story, of Jerry Lukowski and friends from the steel mill who have fallen victim to the breakdown of industry in Buffulo New York. The friends find themselves unemployed, depressed and at a loose end. When The Chippendales come to Buffalo, the enthusiasm and money shown by Buffulo's women leads Jerry a great solution to their monetary dilemma – why not put on a strip show? Real men, local boys stripping, surely the girls would pay for that?
Jerry sets about making his idea of a 'real men' strip show a reality.
In its manifestation Campbelltown Theatre's Full Monty is a riot. The laughter from the auditorium raised the roof as the crowd was assaulted with one liners, kitsch cha cha numbers and ass cheeks to boot.
Running for the next three weekends in August, this show is not just for the ladies. With a male heavy cast many of the numbers are definitely male relevant i.e. Sport, fatherhood, jobs, masculinity and for the ladies STRIPPING!!
