Love walking and learning about nature at the same time? Then come and join the Friends of Belair National Park each month as they take you on a guided walk through the park.
The walks will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from April to November, this year being 11 April, 9 May, 13 June, 11 July, 8 August, 12 September, 10 October and 14 November 2023. These walks are repeated on the Sunday following if you cannot make it on a Tuesday.
We have been on these walks many times in the past years and they were certainly enjoyable. The volunteer guides were most friendly and knowledgeable about the park and its flora and fauna. One of the highlights was the park's many native orchids that can be seen during the orchid season.
The walk starts at 2.00pm and it usually takes about two hours. Meeting point is at the Green Shed at 1.45pm. There is no cost for the walk and no registration is required. Entry to the park is also free for those participating in the walk. You have to let the attendant at the entry office know that you are coming for the walk. Visit their
website if you need more information.
Belair National Park is located at Upper Sturt Road, Belair. Set in beautiful natural bushland, it is South Australia's oldest national park.
