Finding a place to enjoy a coffee and cake with friends can be a little more challenging when you've got a pram and littlies in tow. The pram never seems to fit between the tightly packed tables, and you just feel so ... conspicuous.
Well, not so at The Foyer Cafe. Located in the leafy surrounds of Wonga Park, you'll find this homely cafe inviting and spacious. With plenty of room to park the pram, loads of high chairs and delicious food, it's the perfect place to meet with your friends or mother's group. Of course, if you're out and about without the kiddies, you're more than welcome too - there are even designated 'child free' zones.
The Foyer Cafe is a community training cafe run by the Melbourne Christian Fellowship, and staffed by volunteers from the church.
Open from 9am - 3pm Tuesday through Friday, the cafe serves a mouthwatering selection of foods including morning tea, lunch and a hard-to-resist selection of cakes, biscuits and slices. There's also a wide selection of drinks.
Special dietary needs? The selection of gluten and dairy free cake will not disappoint.
The Foyer Cafe's latest endeavour is offering up a 'theme day' lunch menu: Tuesday is all about soups and bread rolls, Wednesday is pies, chips and salad day, Thursday is for the pizza lovers, and Friday is fish and chips.
The Foyer Cafe is all about community, so as well as offering a place to eat and socialise, you'll also find a number of community events on offer. Events include 'Babycinos' - activities for babies and toddlers, 'Tales in the Tent' - story time for children, and 'Conversation, Craft and a Cuppa' - for the adults.
