Coffee, Breakfast and Lunch Bar
The Food Barr has been on my 'to try' list for a while. This cafe has been named as one of the top 5 hidden gems in the northern suburbs and the reviews I have seen have been outstanding.

While walking up to this cafe, the green tiled walls and red roses which filled the walkway, gave the outside a lively and vibrant feel.

Entrance/ Outside Eating Area

Stepping inside, this place screams rustic luxury with dark wash floorboards and wooden tables with yellow, red and black touches everywhere. The cafe is warm, homely and inviting. There is a range of seating inside and a relaxing shaded outdoor area. The cafe was very clean and there were cute picturesque touches everywhere, with a picture frame mural being my favourite.

This cafe has been around for about 5 years, but new owners, Eric and Sue, have been with this cafe for 7 months. The owners were very friendly and helpful and when asking Eric what he recommends, he said "everything!"

The Food Barr offers breakfast and lunch and caters to all with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. They also do catering platters.

I came to this cafe with my sister and we were both pleased with our meals. As a special, they had beef and vegetarian burgers, so I decided to get the beef burger. It came with a delicious homemade beef patty, lettuce, onion, cheese and beetroot relish but they were happy to switch up my onion for tomato. My sister got the basic breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, and toast. The meals came out quickly, presented beautifully and tasted amazing.

Beef Burger And Basic Breakfast

For other breakfast options, they have basic and big breakfasts, vegetarian breakfast, omelette, breakfast muffins, smoothie bowls and if you have a sweeter tooth, they have pancakes and waffles served with ice-cream or cream and choice of sauce, maple syrup, honey or chocolate sauce.

For light lunch options, they have homemade lasagna, eggplant parmigiana, frittata and salads. They also have plenty of homemade options filling the display cabinet, including focaccias, rolls, toasties, pizzas, croissants, quiches and assorted cakes and sweets. Meals are very affordable with breakfast prices ranging from $4.50- $18.90 and lunch from $8.50.

For a drink with your meal, you can't go wrong with having one of their award-winning coffees. They use Di Bella coffee beans and my latte was delicious! They can cater to everyone with almond, coconut, soy, lactose-free and full cream milk available. If you're not up for a hot drink, they also sell iced coffee, iced mocha, freshly squeezed orange juice and a variety of drinks and juices in the display fridge. If you are ordering a coffee here to take away, this cafe is also registered to Responsible Cafes and offer a 20c discount if you bring your own reusable coffee cup.

A recommendation to add to your list of places to enjoy your next brunch.
