The Colours of Autumn
Autumn light is casting a warm glow over the landscape in Adelaide. There is something altogether wonderful about crunching autumn leaves beneath your feet; that carpet of colours. An autumn walk will lift the senses. To see autumn colours at their finest, take a look at some of the best autumnal views.

Simply stunning autumnal colour takes up all available space here. European trees line the way through the vines on the hill, towards the maples, birches and oak trees around the lake. Visiting in the afternoon gives the valley a warm amber glow. The wines are pretty stunning too. More info on K1 Winery here

Mc Laren Vale Visitor Centre – Mc Laren Vale
The visitor Centre is home to a gallery space, information area staffed by local volunteers, playground, open lawns, vines, and a café. Taking a look outside under the pergola and café, and view the blaze of vivid red leaves from the vines on the pergola, which is highlighted by the red cafe chairs. Take advantage of this refuge. Angove Winery - Mc Laren Vale
This newly created cellar door facility is well designed to take full advantage of a magnificent outlook across a valley of vines and rolling golden hills. The cellar door has excellent coffee, cakes and macaroons, with regional platters and special events. It has a decking area that takes full advantage of this location. There's also a boardroom for hire, but how anyone would get any work done with that view is beyond me. More info on Angove Winery here

Maxwell Winery - Mc Laren Vale
A high vantage point gives this winery stunning autumn views across the vales. As the vines change from that greeny yellow to yellowy brown then rust. The winery itself is a handsome building with outdoor seating areas, lawns, and garden spaces. The interior has art exhibitions, a restaurant and cellar door, but it's hard to drag the eyes away from that view. More info on Maxwell Winery here

Stirling Main Street - Adelaide Hills
There are few better places to see autumn colours than through the main street of Stirling. Have a seat in the Organic Café and soak it all in. The streets and laneways will be buzzing this Sunday for the Stirling Laneways festivities.
