Queensland Coastline Inspired Works Exhibition
Jo St Baker is an artist living in Moreton Bay and who owns a gallery at Mon Komo in Redcliffe. Much of her work in inspired by the Queensland coastline by which she resides. A talented artist, Jo pushes the boundaries using a combination of mediums and art aspects of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and print. Her latest exhibition combines wood carvings with rustic sculptures, poetry, paintings and videos.
Winner of the 2017 Flying Arts Queensland Regional Art Award, Jo is exhibiting at the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery from now until the 11th August 2018. The exhibition titled "The First Wave" brings alive the land/sea transitions and physical attributes associated with coastline environment and culture. This expo embraces her ability as she addresses tribalism, brotherhood, ceremony and community through traditional materials and symbolism.
The First Wave is being held at the Hub Gallery, Caboolture Regional Art Gallery, 4 Hasking Street, Caboolture from Monday to Saturday. The gallery is open from 10am to 4pm daily.
