You may be tempted to rug up and stay home, but Melbourne does not hibernate for the winter. There is plenty to do, such as the vibrant Fire Garden Pop-Up in South Wharf.
The Fire Garden Pop-Up is a cosy celebration of the cold weather. Free live music and entertainment are the drawcard of the event, which encourages Melburnians to head to South Wharf to enjoy local restaurants. Every effort has been made to make the pop-up comfortable in the chilly weather, with open fires, blankets, and mulled cider and wine available.
Held every day throughout winter at the Common Man Lawn, the Fire Garden Pop-Up begins each day at midday so there is plenty of time to enjoy all that winter has to offer. The pop-up is open until late on all days except Monday and Sunday (on which it closes at a leisurely 4pm). There is no entry fee.
