was held for 3 days Friday to Sunday, 8th to 10th May 2015, at the Australian Technology Park. The market will be travelling to Brisbane on the 4th and 5th July and later to Melbourne on the 17th to 19th July. It will return back to Sydney for the Spring/Summer season on the 11th to 13th December 2015.

As an avid fan of Sydney weekend markets, I felt that the Finders Keepers Market was more of an upper-class market, which could mean two things - good quality stuff, but also hefty on the price tag. However, you get what you pay for. The items sold in the markets are mostly created by independent designers, people with big dreams to share their artistic passion with the world and making a living out of it. Being independently created does not mean quality is a compromise. The quality of the items sold in the market is definitely top-notch. Plus, you can't find them anywhere else around the world. You not only pay for its uniqueness and quality but also know that every cent you put into purchasing the item goes straight to the owner; who is usually the brain behind the item you bought, the one who transformed his or her ideas into reality, and probably the same person who is behind the counter selling you their stuff.

creates a platform for budding local entrepreneurs in the art and design industry to showcase their talents and you can tell that Australians are not short of amazing talents! Market visitors can see the effort that is being poured into not only the items on sale but also on the designs of the booths as well. Visitors are exceptionally spoilt for choice with over 200 stalls to visit. Items being sold were mostly posters, postcards, greeting cards and gifts. Other items on sale include homeware, ceramic, textile, clothes, jewellery, accessories and food!

What is a market without the food. There were food trucks lined outside the exhibition hall, each has its long lines of hungry hippies. Some of the market booths specializes in food items too such as The Chai Room which was selling premium hand blended chai and Pana Chocolate which as its name suggests was selling blocks of raw, organic chocolates. Visitors get to unwind with good food and drinks and enjoy the live band playing in the centre stage.

Some other interesting features of the market includes crafts workshop organized by Dailylike and James Guilliver Hancock where market visitors get a chance to unleash their hidden artistic talents and bring home their masterpieces.

I am totally looking forward to the next Finders Keepers Market although it will be a 7 months wait till it arrives back in Sydney! In the meantime, it would be a good opportunity for potential designers to start their own handmade collection to be sold at the market. Otherwise, it would be a good time for visitors to continue supporting the local market stallholders and future visitors to start saving up their moolahs for the next market!
