Healthy, fresh food with little packaging
As we become more aware of the connection between what we eat and how we feel, consumers are realising the benefits of eating fresh, simple foods. The Field Wholefoods , recently opened at Golden Grove Village Shopping Centre, The Grove Way, Golden Grove, is heaven for those of us who are looking to purchase fresh, healthy, nutritious food products.

With a wide range of goods available from seeds, grains and nuts to dried fruit, spices, muesli, flours, oils, you have the choice of buying just enough for your recipe or in bulk. The key here is that you choose how much you want to buy - it is not being pre-determined for you by a store or manufacturer. Even better, The Field Wholefoods suppliers provide goods in bulk with very little packaging and because you can either choose from the recycled brown paper bags available or bring your own containers, there is very little packaging waste.
Products are available for all types of diets from paleo, vegetarian and vegan to gluten-free, with the bins having the appropriate markings so that you know that what you are selecting is suitable for you. I have found the pricing to be reasonable and comparable to what I have found in large supermarkets. I love that I can buy buckwheat flour for almost the same price that I purchase raw buckwheat in the larger supermarkets.

With all this, you would be forgiven in thinking it really cannot get any better, however, it does as there is also a range of prepared eat in and takeaway foods available. Choose from salads, frittatas, energy balls, coffees and juices and either take home for a later treat or find a table just outside the store and enjoy straight away.
The Field Wholefoods experience goes well beyond what is available in store with the website providing a range of healthy recipes which include alternatives for less healthy favourites. Recipes such as Chia Pizza Base, Magic Seed Crackers and Chocolate Peanut Cookies leave me wanting to try them all. If you want a quicker option than buying all the individual ingredients for a recipe, pop in and buy one of the ready-made jars which come complete with everything you need. Choose from the Seedy Cracker Jar, Spicy Dahl Jar or Energy Ball Jars for a quick and easy option.
You also have the option of ordering products online for delivery to your door anywhere in Australia. Delivery is guaranteed within 7 working days. Delivery costs are weight based and started at $9.95 for 1 – 5 kgs, through to $21.95 for 15 – 20 kgs. Orders over 20 kgs will need the cost of delivery quoted. Please see the website for further information on ordering online.
If you love healthy, low processed foods or even if you are just starting down the path to a healthier lifestyle, you can check them out online but I recommend you come along and check out what is on offer in store at The Field Wholefoods.
Store opening hours at Golden Grove are as per the centre hours.
