Everybody's FREE favourite group fitness classes -
the Medibank Feel Good Program - return to South Bank Parklands from Monday 2 October until Saturday 2 December 2017. It's time to awake from your winter hibernation and get out in the fresh air with like minded fitsters for classes that range from cardio and bootcamp to active kids, dance and aqua.
Don't be worried if you haven't attended classes like this before. All classes are FREE and led by qualified instructors from
Goodlife Health Clubs , all ages and fitness levels are welcomed and there is no need to book. All you have to do is turn up and join in. It couldn't be simpler. The only recommendations are a towel and water bottle. You can bring your own yoga mat, or there is a limited supply of them available on a first come-first served basis. The Medibank Feel Good Program has been designed to suit all fitness levels, with classes ranging from low impact to high energy options. Little Stanley Street Lawn is the venue for all classes, except the Aqua class, which is held at the Boat Pool next to Streets Beach. Some classes are available in the mornings while some are specially designed for an after-work workout. You choose the sessions that re the best fit for your lifestyle.
Below are short summaries of the available classes. Click on the blue links for further information.
Boot Camp
Attention! Bootcamp may sound tough but it's actually suitable for any fitness level. Described as a 'series of drills and interval training' you'll get to work on all the major muscle groups.
Wednesdays (4 October to 29 November) 6:45AM - 7:30AM
Mums and Bubs
What a great idea. Mums and Bubs classes offer specialised post-natal exercises where you'll work out with bub along for the ride.
Wednesdays (4 October to 29 November) 9:30AM - 10:15AM
Active Kids
If you're trying to find something for your active, or not-so-active kids to do on the weekends then the Active Kids class on Saturday mornings might be just the thing. This is a fun workout for kids aged 5 to 12. Get them off their screens and out in the spring sunshine.
Saturdays (7 October to 2 December) 9:30AM - 10:15AM
Yoga
The Yoga classes provide you with a couple of options. Don't like Mondays? Get off to a good start with an early Monday class. Otherwise you can make the weekend really count from the start with a Saturday morning class. Or maybe you'd like to do both. Balance and flexibility are the key targets for these classes.
Mondays (2 October to 27 November) 5:45PM - 6:30PM Saturdays ( 7 October to 2 December) 8:00AM - 8:45AM
Aqua
Make the most of the refreshing Boat Pool with Aqua classes. They are suitable for all ages and fitness levels, but are especially beneficial for pregnancy and rehabilitation.
Saturdays (7 October to 2 December) 9:30AM - 10:15AM
Core Strength
One of the after-work options, in these classes you'll focus on 'chiselling your abs, glutes, back and obliques'.
Tuesdays (3 October to 28 November) 5:45PM- 6 :30PM
Cardio
Burn off some of those extra winter calories with the Cardio classes. It's a high intensity, low impact class that includes boxing, squats and running.
Wednesdays (4 October to 29 November) 5:45PM- 6 :30PM
Dance
Feel the groove when you get up and move with the popular Dance classes. These will use dance moves from ballet, jazz, and hip hop to increase your fitness.
Thursdays (5 October to 30 November) 5:45PM - 6:30PM
