The Famous Spiegeltent is a series of spectacular shows held in a European style theatre tent outside the Canberra Theatre in Civic Square. With shows held every evening (February 19th - March 14th, 2016), the lure of mystery and intrigue awaits inside the tent with burlesque, caberet, acrobatics, magic, music and death-defying aerial feats. The word "Spiegel" translates to "mirror", as this is the last remaining Belgium mirror tent from the 1920's.
As you walk up to the tent for your evening of entertainment, meet some surprising characters who will invite you in and begin The Famous Spiegeltent experience.

The Famous Spiegeltent tent will be an attraction in itself, with polished wooden décor, antique stained glass, big top roof and mirrors positioned at every angle to create a world of illusion. The tent last came to Canberra in 2013 and was set up in the Senate Rose Garden at Old Parliament House for centenary celebrations to sell-out crowds. This is the first time it will come to Civic Square and will be set up with an outside bar and garden - perfect for Summer's light evenings.

Each night, La Clique will be the feature show, bringing a special kind of caberat to the tent. The show is sexy and scintillating with combination of mystical dark magic, singing, burlesque, dance and jaw dropping aerial acrobatics. La Clique has won an array of international awards and has performed at sell out venues in London, New York, Sydney, Paris and Montreal. There will be also be a range of other acts to enjoy including George Washingmachine who sings their own style of Australian gypsy jazz, Rufino and the Coconuts who performs a unique Caribbean style groove, Burlesque Idol for a night of saucy comedy, Vince Jones Australia's leading Jazz vocalist and Robyn Archer who sings American classics.
A favourite will be The Bugle Boys , a hilarious show where Michael Dalton, Jon Jackson and Andrew Dessmann frock up and perform all the Andrew Sister classics from the 1930's and 40's. In between songs they "bitch and squabble and deliver a hilarious tale of their life and career".

The Famous Spiegeltent is a unique experience, not just a range of shows. Visitors will be spellbound by the atmosphere inside the tent and surprises around every corner. Held in a central location at Civic Square, it is accessible to locals and visitors to the city, making a memorable evening for all.
