I'm a freelance writer living in the amazing Central Coast NSW region. I will be enjoying the sites of the Central Coast and Newcastle areas and giving you my thoughts of the different types of attractions and events that I will be experiencing.

The Entrance, 'where the lake meets the sea'. The Entrance houses so many attractions that meet the needs for everybody. It's a place where families can get together and have a marvellous time playing in their many playgrounds including a water feature playground where your kids can cool off whilst you sit to the side and enjoy the fantastic water view and some good old fashioned chips. Families can take their children to ride the historic carousel or a walk along the heritage boardwalk to the beach, Visitors can also enjoy watching the amazing pelican feeding, a spot of fishing or have a relaxing beverage at the many cafes and pubs in the area. On every weekend there are markets held including every second Saturday the Fisherman's markets. There's always something happening at The Entrance.

The Entrance hosts many special events which includes the annual festival Cromefest. Cromefest is a 3 day weekend presented by Californian Crusin' Inc, displaying classic American cars, bikes, rock 'n' roll entertainment and retro market stalls.

At this year's event the streets, car parks and memorial park were filled with over 800 classic cars, motorbikes, retro push bikes, trailers and even a hearse filled with skeletons. The owners of these fine vehicles travelled from all parts of Australia to be a part of this colourful and friendly environment.

The air was filled with the sounds of retro dj's and bands playing good old rock n roll. The enthralled audience got to learn rock n roll dance moves and participate in many competitions including a hula hoop competition. The market stalls were filled with rock n roll memorabilia, retro outfits, gift ideas, food options and much more. In the evening some of the local venues supported the event with vintage style entertainment.

If you enjoy classic cars, entertainment and fantastic retro stalls, come down to The Entrance in October 2013 and stay at the many close-by caravan parks, apartments and hotels. Some within walking distance or a 5 minute drive to the action.

Hope to see you all there.
