Let's face it, we all deserve a good cocktail now and then.

Whether work has been ...well work, or you have some celebrating to do, cocktails are always a good idea.

Dress in your favourite Audrey and head to the Cocktail Bar at The Emporium Hotel, 1000 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley - their Winter menu awaits!

I recently had the good fortune to try out their New Winter Cocktail Menu. I say good fortune because it's an exclusive menu created by the Emporium team after their Cocktail Bar Supervisor, Lette became inspired by a recent trip to the orient.

Brisbane now has access to a brand new taste journey that highlights exotic new 'flavour fusions' that you won't find anywhere else.

The bar itself is the epitome of class, a Grand German Chandelier guides you to your new happy place. This is the place to celebrate all the joys of life, with a glass Parisian wall setting the scene for your much deserve cocktail date.

My absolute favourite of the four was is the Ginger Geisha, which consisted of Havana Club 3 White Spiced Rum, Ginger, Coconut, Mozart White Cacao and Black Sesame.

If I wasn't my mother's child, I would have said 'Waiter, bring me a bucket of that'.

The Soft-Shell Crab Bao is a very good idea. I dare you to look me in the eye and not agree that it is divine.

If sweetness is not your thing and you need to wash down the blues, order the Enoki Gibson with Botanist Gin, Mushroom Infused dry Sherry, Umami bitters and Balsamic Onion.

I'm just going to say it, if we were going to point fingers at this group of drinks, this guy is the bass-ass, trouble maker type. Yeah, you bet I ate the onion!

The Shiso Good: Glenfiddich 12 Scotch Whiskey, Micro Shiso, Finger Lime and Soda is really that good.

Last but by no means least, please say bottoms up to the Nashi Treacle - Martell VS, Lairds Apple Jack, Treacle syrup and Angostura Bitters topped with a Fresh Nashi Pear fan and smoked cinnamon.
