So this past Wednesday some friends invited me to a quiz night they have been attending on Wednesdays for the last few weeks. They were pretty excited about it and raved about what a great night it was. However, I was a bit sceptical as I've been to a few pub quiz nights and been disappointed.
But after attending Quiz Meister night on Wednesday night at the Earl Of Leicester Pub, just out side of the city, I am a fan - I will definitely become a regular.
The quiz night its self is completely free, but I recommend you take about $60 for a feed and some drinks. You can play by your self or in a group of up to 10 mates.
Every few rounds there are jugs of beer to be won and a jackpot question at the end worth $500.
The food at the Earl should not be overlooked. I had the pork ribs which were amazingly tender and falling off the bone. My partner had the chicken dish and raved about it. My friends who are regulars love the Wednesday night Curry Special. Drinks and food are your average pub prices.
The only downside is that you cannot book a table beforehand and these nights are pretty popular, so you need to rock up by 5:30pm to make sure you get a table, otherwise you will be standing.
The quiz night itself kicks off at 7:30 and wraps up around 10pm.
Overall it is a fun night out with some friends, with good food on offer and laughs to be had.
Head on down to the Earl on a Wednesday to check it out.
