This wonderful Book Exchange, or Second Hand Book Shop has been in operation in Maroochydore for some 28 years! The
Duporth Book Exchange is very popular for readers and folk extending their own libraries. It's a fascinating collection of rooms packed from floor to almost ceiling of a wonderful range of books.
What are you interested in? Biography? History? Picture Books? Travel? Fiction? Non-Fiction? Popular Fiction? Science? War and Westerns? Whatever – you are bound to find it in the Duporth Book Exchange.
Each day tables of books are set up in front of the shop, but after you have explored the offerings there, walk into the shop and take a journey through the shelves to find what you are seeking. Perhaps you want to increase your own library, or you are seeking a gift for another avid reader, or find a book to read as you sit and enjoy the beach.
When you purchase a book, you'll learn about their exchange program – so when you are finished with the book, you can return and get another one. Don't leave the shop without learning about this program!
It is at 3a Ocean St, (and was some years ago in Duporth St, hence the name).
The Duporth Book Exchange is open on the Nights on Ocean events, which are held on the 2nd Friday of each month from 5 pm to 9 pm, when the whole street comes alive with markets and entertainment.
