Adelaide has a number of places that would be perfect to unwind and relax after a busy week at uni or work. There are pubs and clubs offering cheap and delicious drink specials by hosting theme parties, ladies nights and the like.

The Duke on Currie Street is one such place that always attracts my friends and myself with similar deals that spread over 5 days in a week.

There's a variety of groups that visit the Duke and take full advantage of their specials. Business professionals, uni students, tourists, exchange program groups - you name it, they're all there, getting their hump day beer fix satisfied, with cheap pizzas or burgers served on the side. Live gigs are the main source of entertainment from around 5pm, which attracts a decent crowd and contributes towards a relaxing, fun evening.

Thursdays at the Duke always turn out to be massive, with the beer garden hosting live music from 5pm, followed by the dance floor inside getting filled up by around midnight, with the best DJs crankin' up the latest club/radio songs.

With drink specials starting as low as $4 for vodka mixes on Thursdays ($3 for members on Thursdays and Saturdays) from 8pm to 11pm, and $7 jagerbombs all night, you know you're in for a fun night.

Membership is free and easy, so talk to one of the friendly bartenders about signing up. Being a gold member myself, I'd highly recommend it, because all those points that you accumulate every time you swipe your card with a purchase at the Duke will end up rewarding you big time in the long run.

Saturday nights involve the upstairs balcony and dance floor being opened to the public to get their weekend partyin' on the roll, in addition to the beer garden and ground dancefloor which are otherwise available to the public during the week. With great drink specials and a $10 cover charge, the Duke is set to serve you well and guarantee an enjoyable Saturday night out in town, while being surrounded by good company.

Don't forget to get photographed at the Duke to add to the special, fun, wild memories - it will be worth the capture!
