What a fabulous idea! Old-school drive-in with a modern twist - I absolutely love it! I have very fond childhood memories of going to our local 'Drive In' with the family, to catch the latest movies.
Aussie World is hosting the all-ages, family movie,
The Wizard of Oz and it's literally first in, best parked, with gates opening at 5.30pm and the movie commencing at 6.30pm
The Wizard of Oz is a timeless musical fantasy, of a young Kansas farm girl, Dorothy, who dreams of a land '
somewhere over the rainbow'. Dorothy's dream comes true when Dorothy (played by Judy Garland), Toto, her ever-faithful dog, and Dorothy's family home are relocated, thanks to a tornado, to a bright and magical world.
Join Dorothy as she sets off along the yellow brick road, accompanied by a scarecrow without a brain, a tin man with no heart and a cowardly lion, to beseech the all-powerful
Wizard of Oz to help her to return home.
So, how does the old-fashioned, with a modern twist, drive-in, work?
The movie sound comes through your car or portable FM radio - modern twist
Bring blankets, pillows and sleeping bags and mattresses and lie down in the back of your van, ute or car
This is an all-ages event - bring the kids and let them enjoy the show or fall asleep in the back seat!
Parking attendants will assist you to drive in and select your own car spot
Eat, drink and relax in your own car! Aussie World will have plenty of great movie snacks and drinks, available for purchase
Price is per car, squeeze as many people into the car - legally, of course!
What COVID-19 measures are in place?
Aussie World's highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of guests. With this in mind, the following measures are in place to ensure guests feel comfortable and safe.
To comply with social distancing, tickets need to be pre-purchased online and scanned on arrival (Aussie World would prefer it if tickets are also pre-printed, before arrival). This prevents unnecessary handling of many mobiles.
Sanitiser stations for visitor's use are all around the venue and at entrances to any buildings
Please bring your own garbage bags to dispose of your own rubbish.
Only members from the same household are allowed to be in each car
Please remain in your own vehicle
Social distancing should be observed in common areas and shared facilities
Please pre-purchase your tickets online here, via Moshtix. Don't forget to pre-print them!
See you at the old-fashioned Drive In!
