The Doonan Recyling Plant (near Noosa)

The Doonan Recyling plant and tip is located at 561 eumundi noosa road, Doonan.

As well as having a waste disposal and regular tip (one of the few plants to dispose of asbestos) I often pop into the recycling area if I'm in search of something cheap but good.



There's always a friendly employee handy if you ever need any help to move something into your car and boy, do they stock a large range of goods. I rarely walk out of there empty handed.

The re-clycling plant works hand in hand with the noosa community training centre which helps people get back into the workforce after they've been unemployed for a while. They all start the same way completing an 18 weeks training programme and if you're lucky and there happens to be a vacancy - you get kept on. It employs about a dozen people at this site and as I said, they're more than helpful to accommodate your request.

Open from 8.15am to 4 pm - 7 days a week except public holidays.

Donations come from the general public and they often do the on street pick up collections. There are a couple of carpenters working there also, which make lovely timber recycled furniture such as this beautiful cabinet made of Oregon timber .



This is one recycling plant that's giving back to the community by selling and producing cheap and quality goods which of course also reduce the amount of land fill. A win win scenario for all.



And my latest addition to my kitchen for the pricey sum of $10. (It works really well.)
