The quirkiest and friendly drinking atmosphere in Glebe
In west Sydney's bar scene there is a little cocktail and tapas bar that is a must see for all residents and visitors - over the age of 18 of course! On Glebe Point road in Glebe, the Different Drummer is a quirky and extremely friendly bar that brings in a good crowd of music, alcohol and food lovers.
First of all there is the food. Tapas is the best way to serve in my opinion as you can have a taste of all the drummer has to offer. At a very reasonable price for the flavour you will enjoy, you have a varied meat, vegetarian and some different delights that I can't spoil, you'll have to check it out for yourself. But if there is something I can recommend, it is their take on the classic Wagyu Beef or the Pulled Pork; deep fried salami pieces, a coleslaw addition in between a fresh toasted bun. Hands down the best pulled pork burger I've had to date. And if you wish to dine in mainly for the food, the drummer offers 5 function areas for social gatherings and/or business related functions. If you can get in early enough go to the top of the 3 storey building where there is a priceless view of Sydney harbour while you sip back a cocktail and relax.
Next is my favourite part of the drummer; the bar, bartenders and alcohol! The staff of the Drummer are the most welcoming and friendliest bartenders that really bring the good atmosphere and vibe I now know the drummer for. Plus there's a cocktail happy hour from 5-6pm, which you can't complain with at all. So if you're stuck with where to go for a few drinks with friends why not make the drummer a local meet up spot.
Last but not least is the music scene in not just the Drummer but Glebe aswell. On Sunday's there is always live music with a very talented regular Hannah that you shouldn't miss out on at all. But each Friday and Saturday night there is a DJ playing each week in all genres, from dance to old school. These are typically free entry but you can keep up to date by liking the Drummer on Facebook and receiving updates and invites each week.
