The Danberrys have launched what was described as an exciting tour of New Zealand at Bethells Beach Cafe early this month. They have been described as a rhythmically seductive and emotionally connecting band, They are well led by Tennessee-born couple Ben DeBerry and Dorothy Daniel - a truly unique pair of artists hailing from East Nashville, Tennessee.
There is reportedly a special indie-folk built vibe around Dorothy's 'luxuriously smoky voice' and Ben's intricate acoustic guitar flatpicking with a combo of bluegrass, country, blues and funk/soul influenced sounds.
They perform as a trio along with Vanessa McGowan (Tattle Saints) on upright bass. The Danberrys take listeners through a journey of the near limitless nature of the American genre.
All three of the band's albums have been nominated for a number of Independent Music Awards, including best American Album and a recent 2016 win in the Best Bluegrass Song category.
