This play is one that needs to be seen
If nothing else, this is a most interesting title! This is, however, quite a well-known production and the winner of five Tony awards for The National Theatre of Great Britain.

It has also won seven Olivier Awards, including Best Play, Best Director and Best Design.

The Tony award winner, Marianne Elliott directs this "triumphant" (Sunday Telegraph, United Kingdom) adaptation by the twice Olivier Award-winning playwright, Simon Stephens. Simon Stephens brings Mark Haddon's internationally best-selling novel to an exciting stage play.

It is the story about fifteen-year-old Christopher Boone, who has an extraordinary brain. He is exceptional at mathematics while not at all apt to everyday life. He has actually never gone out alone beyond the end of his street and he detests being touched.

Added to all this, he also distrusts strangers. However, when Christopher is under suspicion for killing his neighbour's dog, he uses his detective skills to find out who the real culprit is. This takes him on a journey that totally turns his world upside down. This play is an outstanding and captivating stage show. It will have a British and Irish cast and is a "global theatrical phenomenon" that should not be missed!

It will be on in Perth from 8th to 19th August 2018 at His Majesty's Theatre, 825 Hay Street, Perth.

Performance times will be:

Tuesday 7.00 pm
Wednesday/Thursday/Friday 8.00 pm

The play was adapted from the book of the same name. The subject matter is not light, however, it is a favourite with many people.

Christopher Boone has behavioural difficulties. When he set out to discover this mystery, he is "aping" one of his favourite detectives, Sherlock Holmes. While solving this crime, Christopher ends up solving a lot more than he had anticipated, and the reader sees a unique insight into how he deals with this.

The author, Mark Haddon, says that the book is not about a child with Asperger's Syndrome, even though that is what the book says at the back. It is indeed a heartwarming and honest story.
