A friend and I have a weekend routine where we try a different brunch spot after an early morning walk and this weekend we tried The Cupping Room, which is located across the road from Uni Pub. Before you say anything, yes it is hipster...but in a good way.

As stated on their website, 'The Cupping Room is a concept cafe designed to take you on a flavour journey through sharing passion and knowledge about coffee, food, wine, tea, and just about anything else you can put in your mouth'. Upon entering you will be greeted by a young, friendly and enthusiastic waiter (no doubt a struggling uni student) who will take you straight to your seat, or will apologise profusely, put your name on a list and escort you to an area where you will be served drinks while you wait.

The service is very prompt and no doubt one of the reasons this place is so popular right now. The other reason is the menu. The coffee menu is exceptional, you can order: a milk-based expresso, black expresso, or filter; all in a range of blends. If coffee isn't your thing, they have a huge range of Adore Tea teas. There are also juices, smoothies, shakes, and organic soft-drinks. The Breakfast Menu is extensive without being ridiculous. There are fabulous looking healthy options like the Housemade Granola, and the not so healthy options like the Cup-Nuts; ricotta doughnuts served with chocolate sauce, Turkish delight jellies, toasted coconut and pistachio dust.

The South American vibe that runs through this place is young, refreshing and exactly what Canberra needed! I predict a long and satisfying relationship between both The Cupping Room and me...
