Just a girl spreading the word about all the fun (and probably nerdy) things to do!

What happens when you leave the cave
This movie is a hard one to judge, at first I thought it was so completely unrealistic I just couldn't enjoy it. Doing things that no human or caveman should ever be able to survive or do. However as the movie went on, there were moments of hilarity which had the whole cinema laughing and the movie itself started to get a purpose and move along and bring the audience with it.
Something to mention is the beautiful scenery and visual effects, where the worlds that are shown are completely different to anything you've ever seen or imagined before and really are a wonder to watch.
Another special mention goes out to all the pets that are shown in the movie, the most adorable creatures that with no words really do have the best lines in the movie. I really believe that a head tilt, an eyebrow raised and a "dun dun duuuun" at the right moments really breaks the ice and gives the film a new level of comedy, and a new level of attachment to the characters.
One thing that confused me was Guy's ever changing reaction to Eep; at one point he's terrified of her, at another point he's attacking her, at a third point he's smitten by her. It's hard to catch onto until he finally makes up his mind and sticks with one.
A nice thing about the film though is that there are some nice connections such as behind the 'hug,' which really are sweet.
Overall I can't really judge this movie, there are some flaws but it also has its good moments, so I think you really just need to see it to decide whether it's for you or not.
