Sydneysiders rejoice, theatre is back with The Credeaux Canvas! The Credeaux Canvas, directed by Les Solomon with assistant director Isaac Broadbent, is a masterful production, executed with such perfection, it is hard to believe all rehearsals took place by Zoom!

The Credeaux Canvas is the story of three twenty-somethings struggling to survive. Winston, an artist, his room-mate Jaime (a disinherited real-estate agent) and his girlfriend, Amelia, a promising singer, plan to con Tess, a wealthy art connoisseur into buying a forged painting, purportedly by French artist Jean-Paul Credeaux.

The play explores the question of entitlement, failings, and desires to have everything with minimum effort. The performances by the ensemble cast were magnificent; Samson Alston as Winston, Jasper Bruce as Jamie, Rachel Marley as Amelia, and Beth Daly as Tess, all brought their characters to life with perfected acting, humour, emotion, and creativity.

The performance is presented under strict health directives with audiences and is limited to 24 people per performance, all socially distanced. The producers kindly provided sanitiser and face masks to the audience, and seating was adequately spaced to conform to COVID social distancing requirements.

Please note the production showcases adult themes, including explicit nudity, strong language and suicide. No children under 16 years admitted.
