Escape the hustle and bustle of the city in beautiful centre
About 8 years ago I used to frequent a small garden centre in East Brisbane to fill my little pot with plants and herbs in my rental at the time. After moving to the other side of the city, I didn't make it back to The Cottage Garden Nursery until this week we decided we needed some Mock Oranges to complete a hedge near our house and I suddenly remembered this great local spot.

Boy has it changed and for the better. It is now a garden centre, gift shop, antique centre, florist and cafe all rolled into one large but welcoming shop on the corner of Stanley Street East and Edgar Street. On reading more about it, I realise that it's one of the closest nurseries to the city being only 4km away from the CBD and with new Bunnings stores popping up everywhere, it's so nice to have a local garden centre to find quality plants and expert advice.

The florist sold lovely large bunches of flowers with a delivery service available. The antiques and collectibles is right beside and has an array of pretty trinkets for tiny prices. There are so many lovely things to choose from that you will be sure to pick up something for your home before you leave. The gift shop is also full of flowing dresses and other ladies fashion along with jewellery and accessories in a 'Garden Party' style.

The cafe is nestled beside the indoor garden plants section and it's luscious and cool. It looked like a great spot to have a cup of tea and a scone with jam and cream. I have already recommended it as a great baby shower spot for one of my lovely friends.

I will definitely be back next time I need something for the garden and will make sure I leave myself time to browse and purchase a few lovely items for myself.
