I don't like writing negative reviews. I usually prefer to simply write about places that I have enjoyed visiting. However, in this case, I'll break my own rule.
Several weeks ago, my wife and I decided to go into town for breakfast and then drive onto a quick visit around Mt. Gravatt markets. As I'd bought a voucher for breakfast at the Cosmopolitan Cafe (aka. 'Cosmo' Cafe), then this is where we decided to eat. The cafe was easy enough to find and parking was no problem.

The cafe had a few fellow diners and so it was easy to obtain a table. We both ordered items from the menu that should be relatively simple to prepare. After all, how difficult is it to to fry some eggs and bacon?
The waitress was happy and eager to please, but the decor looked tired and well worn, and dare I say that it bordered on 'dirty', with the tiles looking chipped and perhaps in need of a wash. The food was bland and unappetising.
[ADVERT]We decided that we would simply not be returning here again. Normally, I would have left it there and not written a review, but on returning home I discovered that I had in error bought a voucher for lunch at the same cafe. My wife was not too happy about a return visit, but we decided that perhaps they had just had an 'off day' and we'd use the voucher for lunch and give it another go later in the month.
Again the waitress was bubbly and welcoming. We decided to dine outside as the weather was sunny with little sign of rain. The meals were served hot and the beer cold, both were served promptly. We both chose meals that were again simple to cook.
This was a better dining experience, but our minds had been made up and we decided that this would be the last time we'd visit here for a meal. Afterall, there are so many other cafes to choose from on Brunswick Street and the most noticeable and telling thing was to see these cafes with so many diners, while we were the only diners on a Friday lunchtime in this cafe.
