The Cook's Larder Cafe

If you are looking for a relaxed, sit-down lunch in one of the most beautiful areas of Sydney, check out 'The Cook's Larder' in Avalon, on Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches.

The Cook's Larder
The street shop front in Avalon

We were greeted by lovely and welcoming staff, a freshly cleaned table, and glasses of water before they took our order.

A short wait later I had one of the nicest sandwiches I've had in a long time, 'The Madame', approximately $17, with ham, cheese, egg, home made ketchup served in pan fried bread accompanied with a lovely green salad. I would almost recommend their almost-too-thick-to-suck-through-a-straw smoothies, I had a mango smoothie for just $6.50 and it was really refreshing and lasted the entire meal.

You can come for breakfast, lunch, dinner on Fridays or just a coffee date, either way you'll be sitting in a warm, vintage styled cafe with an eclectic combination of manual cake beaters and an interesting mix of locals.

If you leave feeling slightly bloated, take a short, five minute walk up the main shopping street to Avalon Beach.
