The Commuter is Liam Neeson's latest action thriller film, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. It is out in cinemas now.
The story follows Michael, a down on his luck insurance salesman, on his commute home. A mysterious woman strikes up a conversation with Michael. She asks him 'What kind of person are you?', challenging him to a hypothetical experiment, an impossible 'What would you do?' situation that he soon realises is all too real.
A combination of curiosity and circumstance finds him unwittingly caught up in a deadly conspiracy. Michael must identify a fellow commuter before reaching the station or people will die. Every decision we make has a consequence and Michael made the wrong one.
This is a Liam Neeson film, so of course he is not just an everyday insurance salesman. Michael is also an ex-cop but, does he still have what it takes to solve this mystery and stay alive on the ultimate commute from hell?
Whether you are a Neeson film fan or not, the storyline has enough twists and thrills to satisfy you. I usually can work out a 'who-dunnit' in the first third of a film but The Commuter left me guessing until the end.
If Liam and a good mystery is not enough to entice you perhaps, I should mention that the very talented Sam Neill also stars in this film. Along with Vera Famiga, Patrick Wilson, Jonathon Banks and Elizabeth McGovern.
Grab your popcorn and your favourite conspiracy theorist and watch The Commuter.
