Winner of many awards including 'small bar of the year' - Timeout in 2011, 'ten best bars in Sydney' - Sydney morning herald in 2012, it is popular yet not too crowded so you can still have a good time.
Set in a heritage farmhouse, the welcoming, pretty courtyard is decorated with hanging plants to elude a garden ambience. There are seats inside also for cooler weathers, the wooden tables and stools have a country farmhouse appeal, which match the wholesome meals served on the menu. You can also enjoy some live music downstairs on the weekends and certain weekdays.
There are fantastic nibbles such as the zucchini flower and cheese entree or the potato skins to supplement the beverages including alcoholic and non alcoholic varieties.. From the mains, the pie was definitely the favourite amongst everyone, delicious and hearty. The pumpkin risotto was a little bland however...
The Commons Bar is open for breakfast from 8 am to 3 pm, lunch from 12 noon and dinner after 6 pm, however you can get nibbles and drinks after 3 pm.
A cosy bar for drinks, favoursome food where you don't need to yell to have a conversation - definitely recommend you try it.
