Human Canvas on the Run
If you're thinking of joining a fun run before the end of the year, as part of a New Year's resolution or bucket list, then continue reading below.
It is a run with a (coloured) twist. Described as the "Happiest 5K on the Planet", the Color Run is a family-friendly run for those who don't mind being a human canvas. Why not sign up as a team as it makes for a great team bonding exercise. You can finally throw paint at your colleagues or friends with no stigma attached.
During the course of the race, the atmosphere will be electric as participants try to cover their white tshirts with as much colour as they can. Participants will be walking or jogging through clouds of colour smoke or be pelted by coloured bags by volunteers and on-lookers.
Only 3 race rules apply to this event: 1. All participants are welcome: fast, slow, runner, walker, old, and young. 2. White shirt dress code at the official start line and ready to roll no later than 9.30AM sharp. 3. Completely coloured Willy Wonka goodness at the finish.
As well as doing justice to your own health, do your part for charity by fundraising for the Australian Paralympic Committee, the nominated charity for the Color Run.
They are also seeking volunteers if you can spare half a day to be part of this crazy event.
Registration is opened on their website. Solo entries are $55. If you have more than 4 people and sign up together, it will cost $50 per person. Numbers are limited so sign up quickly to avoid disappointment.
