A creative collection of art, design, fashion, food & 'cool'
It's out with the old and in with the new at South Bank this October. The vibrant, progressive, entrepreneurial The Collective Markets South Bank will replace the popular and long-standing South Bank Lifestyle Market from 26 October 2013, and visitors are in for a creative treat.

There's no pigeon-holing for this new venture. The new broom that's sweeping through will bring with it opportunities for contemporary creatives in a range of fields. Weekends at South Bank will now be alive with designers, musicians, artists, collectors and foodies. It will provide a platform for emerging designers and artists to showcase their talents and connect with the public in Brisbane's most popular outdoor cultural and community space.

Organisers, Blue Sky Events, run a number of the east coast's most successful markets, including Bondi Markets, Chinatown Markets Sydney and Davies Park Market, West End. Along with South Bank Corporation they are planning to re-invigorate South Bank's market footprint, and are currently calling for stallholder applications.

If you're the creative type, with a passion for art, design and fashion, or just plain "cool stuff", now is the time to get in at the ground floor. The Collective Markets expect to have stallholders across a very broad product range including "arts and crafts, homewares, object design, photography, furniture, food, fashion, jewellery, vintage and pre-loved clothing, unique wares and accessories". There will be a distinct focus on contemporary and popular culture so quirky collectors or products with an eco twist or strong community engagement will also be in the market mix.

If you're not the hands-on creative type yourself but you prefer to wander the markets seeking inspiration from the wares on display or the perfect piece to brighten up your home, your wardrobe or your palate, then be one of the first to experience these new, fun markets at the grand launch on Saturday 26th October.

The Collective Markets will operate at Stanley Street Plaza, South Bank, every weekend from 10am to 9pm on Saturdays, and from 9am to 4pm on Sundays.

Please note that the Young Designers Market will continue to operate on the first Sunday of each month at its usual Little Stanley Street location.
