The Coffee Roaster is simply named, but that's essentially what they do. They are located on Anthony Street in West End and have been air roasting coffee since 1992.
The Coffee Roaster uses speciality grade Arabica coffee beans. The coffee is stored as green beans, as coffee does not start to deteriorate until after it has undergone the roasting process. The coffee is freshly roasted and delivered 'just in time'. You can order a bag of coffee online and it will be delivered within 24 to 48 hours.
The beans are Rainforest Alliance sustainably farmed and Cooperatively traded. The Coffee Roaster also uses the Swiss water process for producing chemical free decaffeinated coffee.
They use the Air Flow Chinook coffee roasting technology which allows them to roast in small and large batches. One of the coolest things at The Coffee Roaster is that you can make your own coffee blend. Then you can put your branding on the packaging. The details of your blend are stored in a computer so that your coffee is roasted to the same standard each time.

You can drop in to The Coffee Roaster and enjoy a cup of coffee with a muffin or small snack. Alternatively, you can take a tour of the warehouse (book ahead) and roast your own bag to take home. The staff are friendly and are able to guide you through the process.
