Enjoy all things books in Clunes, Victoria
If you're an unashamed booklover, enjoy hearing authors talk about their work, and want to be part conversations on big ideas and the world around us, come visit Clunes in the first week of May for The Clunes Booktown Festival.
Love books, reading, author talks, and lovely country towns? Visit The Clunes Booktown Festival (from the festival's Facebook page).
This year, the festival will include headline authors such as Richard Flanagan, Eddie Ayres, Jaclyn Moriarty, and many others. Book your ticket here and you will get access to a number of selected author talks, booksellers, food stalls, performances, entertainment, an exhibition curated especially by The State Library of Victoria for the festival, entry to heritage buildings in town not normally open to the public, and help support event programs run throughout the year. Also make sure to check the schedule and festival event updates as a number author talks and panel discussions will be ticketed this year.
About 18,000 people are expected to visit during the festival so, if you are planning to stay overnight, the event organisers recommend that you book your accommodation early and have provided a number of suggestions for visitors.
Not sure how to get to the festival? Visit the festival directions page for further details. Clunes is situated about 25 minutes north of Ballarat and 90 minutes north west of Melbourne and easily accessible via the Western Highway (M8).
