The concept behind a Clothing Exchange event is simple; you bring along garments you are willing to part with, and exchange them for something that takes your fancy at the event.
There are a few expected but reasonable rules you should be aware of, such as the garments you are willing to trade must be clean, folded or pressed, and free of faults (i.e. all buttons/zips must be intact). There are several items which cannot be traded for obvious reasons, such underwear, swimwear and garments made of polar fleece.
All items are screened at the door and there is a one-for-one garment exchange policy. You can exchange up to 6 garments at the event and there are fitting rooms on site.
As this event is open to the public, there will be a wide range of sizes, styles and fashion labels, including high end labels, to choose from, so there will surely be a pre-love garment, or several, that will grab your attention.
The upcoming Clothing Event happens to be the sixth Melbourne event, and with each event, the Clothing Exchange concept grows in popularity. It is a great chance to clear your wardrobe and embrace a new style or trend, without breaking your budget. Plus it is a fun, relaxed and rewarding activity for a group of friends to attend and participate in.
If you are interested in attending, please note admission to the event is priced at $25. You can purchase your ticket at the door, or pre-purchase it now on the Clothing Exchange website, located here. As the June 1st, 2011 event is occurring at the Loop Bar, it is an 18 and over event.
While the event officially kicks off at 7.00pm, from 6:30pm the screening process will occur. So it is worth heading to the event at around 6:30pm. Upon arrival you will be treated to some delightful cupcakes.
If you are unable to attend this upcoming event, please note there is a National Swap Day currently being organised for Monday 17th October, 2011 at Federation Square, which will be an all ages event.
