The Christmas Story Lady, is a touching, yet relatively unknown classic Christmas film for the entire family to enjoy and tells the tale of a lovely elderly lady, by the name of Grace, (played by the late, great Jessica Tandy), who, after becoming a widow, moves in with her daughter and son-in-law, who decide it would be a good idea for her to spend her afternoons at the local community center, but Grace, being of good health and sound mind, finds herself feeling like there is still so much more she could be doing with her life, to help others.

After being rejected from libraries, hospitals and specialty schools due to her age and possible frailty, Grace, feeling defeated, soon finds herself watching television, where she comes across the deliciously cheesy wonders of community television, when she comes across a gay fitness television program, with a hilarious, yet extremely amateur host and decides that if he can have his own show, then she could too!

Humble little Grace, defies her daughters objections and goes to the community television studio, where she sits down, pulls out a book and proceeds to read a wonderful children's fairy tale and soon after finds fame amongst all the children and parents, who have access to her show, including a little girl, by the name of Julie, who has grown up all too quickly, due to her parents divorce and the fact that her mother, who she lives with, is always at work and hardly has time for her.

Grace's life is soon turned upside down and inside out, when Julie's mother, who works for a children's toy company, manages to see one of Grace's shows and decides to hire Grace for a major television network and changes everything about the show, forcing Grace to wear uncomfortable clothing, have annoying puppet side kicks, "live" in a large, fake cottage and worst of all; call herself Granny Good-heart.

Grace soon takes it upon herself to help Julie and her mother, be more like mother and daughter, rather than acting like colleagues and eventually finds herself going to extremes to get herself out of playing the despicable role of the shudder worthy Granny Good-heart, in order to just be herself again!

The Christmas Story Lady, is a beautiful film, directed by Larry Elikann, with an amazing cast, including Jessica Tandy, Stephanie Zimbalist, Lisa Jakub and Christopher Gartin, who play their characters with such depth, that you really get attached to them and with a wonderful soundtrack and camera work, is a visual treat, for the holiday season.

The Christmas Story Lady is rated G and is suitable for everyone.

This movie sounds wonderful. I'm not a big fan of Christmas movies, but this sounds really nice. Is it available to hire or buy? I've never heard of it.
