Chocolate has never felt this good
Yes, I know I have been posting heaps about dessert bars - what can I say, apart from the fact that I'm a uni student who is now in that phase of the semester where nothing could calm the nerves more than some sweet treats.
Chocolate Bean on Rundle Street always seems to have a wide array of chocolate delicacies to choose from - and good lord, do they have some amazing options!
Chocolate Bean is a quaint little cafe tucked away on Union Street, just off the bustling Rundle Street. It has a wooden-style decor with an indoor downstairs and upstairs seating area, and for the more adventurous - a small outdoor seating area.
They offer everything from drinks to cupcakes to cakes, all having that succulent taste that makes your sweet tooth tingle with excitement.
There are gluten-free and vegan options available at Chocolate Bean, so you need not worry, because whatever your dietary requirements, they will have you covered.
Fancy a quick, warm drink of hot chocolate? Chocolate Bean presents you with some tasty, perfect-temperature hot chocolate with the option of having it in dark/white chocolate. And the best part of getting a drink from here is that you can add a shot of your own choice - at no extra cost to you. So explore the flavours - throw in some hazelnut, or caramel, or mint, and prepare to have a drink with that extra zing.
If you've decided to wander through the many branded stores down Rundle Street and are absolutely starving for something filling, yet on the dessert side, then I'd highly recommend trying the Belgian Waffles - these babies are served with fresh waffles served with strawberries on the side, along with chocolate sauce and ice cream on the top. And yes, the entire dish is covered in drizzled chocolate sauce, which adds to the presentation of the dish, making your mouth water- with good reason.
Chocolate Belgian Waffles @ Chocolate Bean
As mentioned in a previous post, the Death By Chocolate Cake is a definite item to try at least once on visiting Chocolate Bean. It stands true to its name, and is a cake that is very light and fluffy, but rich in flavour.
For those who are hardcore vegan - I tried the peanut butter vegan cake, and I'll be honest- I'm one of the fussiest people when it comes to food, so thinking of this dish as yummy and heart-warming is not saying enough. It is a beautifully crafted cake with some serious flavour bursting in your mouth - so give that a go.
So there you have it - make it a point to visit Chocolate Bean anytime you find yourself in that part of town and surprise yourself by choosing something unusual and spectacular from their comprehensive menu. You can be assured that you won't be disappointed - and the friendly staff there can always help you pick something in case you are overwhelmed with their wide variety of delicious goods.
