As soon as I spied the Chicken Shed food stand in Rusty's Markets , I knew it would only be a question of time before I devoured most items on the menu. I'm happy to report that I've now done the hard task of sampling a good number of items and report that they are all amazing.

For me, deciding what to order off a menu is no easy job. I'm very indecisive and there's nothing worse than making an ordering error and wasting a meal on something less than perfect. By the time we swung by on Friday lunchtime, I'd spent a lot of time stalking pics of the Chicken Shed food on Instagram and discussing options with Jot, my partner in life and eating. She humoured me and pointed out that as the prices were all really reasonable and I'd skipped breakfast that I could always get a few things. She's a secret genius I think.

In all the excitement, between us we had the chicken bulgogi burger with fries ($13), Korean fried chicken on Chicken Shed coleslaw ($8), crispy fried chicken taco ($5) and steamed bao buns ($8). A large lunch indeed, but I regret nothing.

We had our forks in the food even before the staff set it down on the table. It was all so tasty, well presented and served with a smile. I loved that the chicken patty from the burger wasn't deep fried which made a nice change from run-of-the-mill chicken burgers. Jot was fighting me for the pieces of Korean fried chicken and the spice in the tacos was the perfect amount of hot for my taste buds.

We grabbed a word with Chef Chris to thank him for making us two happy ladies and to compliment his creations and he sat down for a chat with us when the lunch rush calmed down. He told us that although he's been a chef in Australia for years now, the Chicken Shed is a relatively new venture and he only opened at Rusty's Markets in February 2017. He runs the static food truck with his wife and although they only serve meals on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, when the markets are open that Wednesdays and Thursdays are busy prep days for the couple. The pair renovated the food truck themselves to make it into the cool, practical kitchen that stands proudly in the corner of the bustling market.

The hard work on the truck and the menu have paid off. The food was all amazing - I can't wait until next Friday lunchtime. And now I know that no matter what I order, I'll be happy with my life choices at that moment in time.
