The Centre of Democracy in the Institute Building, on the corner of North Terrace and Kintore Avenue, showcases the people, power and ideas that have shaped South Australia's democracy and political participation. As part of Open State 2017, you are invited to join the curatorial team for a short tour of the centre.
Enjoy rarely seen treasures and celebrate key moments and significant milestones in our democratic history. Did you know about the radically democratic constitution of 1856? Or, did you know that in 1894 South Australian women were among the first to win the right to vote?
If you are interested, then head to the Open State website to register your attendance for free. There are three 1pm tours available, on 28 September, 3 October and 5 October respectively. You are required to meet at the entrance a few minutes before the beginning of the tour.
