Partly a refuge providing adoption services and partly a day-spa style holiday getaway for guinea pigs, the Cavy Cottage will open it's doors to the public on the 3rd of September when they host their Open Day. This is a chance not only for the Guinea Pigs they currently home to be adopted, but for owners and hopeful-owners of the little animals to come together for a day of games, food and socialising.
A great day out for the family, there will be face painting, treasure hunts, guinea pig races, raffles, and sales on all Cavy-related supplies as well as a sausage sizzle.
Guinea pig competitions will be held, with the judgements being based on the funkiest, noisiest, cutest, ugliest (despite possible long-term effects on the animals self-esteem), hungriest, best trick, and most lookalike owner/pig.
Doors open at 11am and close at 3pm and it is an event open to all public. If you would like to enter your own guinea pig or are interested in looking at the animals currently up for adoption, enquiries can be made through The Cavy Cottage website.
